The Championship Cup Series in conjunction with the Central Roadracing Association is pleased to announce an expansion of our cooperative efforts to promote and strengthen motorcycle road racing in the Mid-West. During the 2015 season, CRA hosted a round of the CCS Mid-West Championship in conjunction with their June Twin Sprint and the response from the racers was overwhelmingly positive. With that information, CRA and CCS started looking at what could be done to expand the program for 2016.
First on schedule will be the CRA event at Brainerd on June 10-12, 2016.

The Championship Cup Series, the American Motorcyclist Association's promoting partner for the AMA Road Race Grand Championship at Virginia International Raceway on Sept. 19-20, is announcing a class change for the amateur championship event.
In light of the United States Grand Prix Riders Union announcement regarding the USGPRU Moto 3 class, new configuration and displacement rules are being put in place for the Moto 3 class at the AMA Road Race Grand Championship. To remain in line with the AMA-sanctioned USGPRU Series, the Moto 3 class is now be open to production-based machines such as the Kawasaki Ninja 300, Yamaha R-3 and the KTM 390.
"Facing the shortage of true 125 two-stroke and 250 four-stroke GP machines available to the U.S. Market, there are very few options to keep this series and class viable for the future," said USGPRU President Stu Aitken-Cade. "This rule change will take effect beginning at the New Jersey Motorsports Park Round on Sept. 5-6 and continue on through the 2016 season."
The Championship Cup Series will be joining the AMA and USGPRU in changing its Moto 3 class to mirror the AMA and USGPRU class rules as of Sept. 1, 2015, at all events promoted from the Fort Worth office and affiliate organizations.
Updated Specifications as follows:
Two stroke, single cylinder, up to 125cc
Four stroke, single cylinder, up to 375cc
Four stroke, twin cylinder, up to 325cc

The Red Flag Fund Annual Auction will be held Saturday August 29th at Blackhawk Farms Raceway, South Beloit Illinois. BBQ dinner will begin at 5:30pm with the auction to follow.
The Red Flag Fund is dedicated to helping seriously injured road racers. By raising money through apparel sales, auctions and other events, we are able to bridge financial gaps not covered by insurance. We are a Federal 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization.
Your support can include donating items for the auction. Items do not have to be motorcycle related. Any item that a racer or their family would purchase is a great auction item. Items can be mailed or dropped off the weekend of the auction. The Fund accepts items throughout the year to auction at the live event or on Ebay. Contact us for more information regarding donations.
If you cannot attend the auction or donate an item, please consider making a monetary donation.
Thank you for supporting the Red Flag Fund. With your support help is on the way.Brian McLaughlin, Red Flag Fund Inc.
Today, we received the following letter from Chris White, Summit Point's Motorsports Coordinator. Please be prepared to be re-routed into the paddock for our upcoming events at this facility.
Our paddock bridge was recently inspected. It failed. Due to this we need to make alternate arrangements for paddock access during your weekend here at Summit Point. Any vehicle larger than a pickup or van pulling a single car trailer will need to be diverted to the Baker access road and counter race to Pit Out.
During the day, we will have staff at the intersection by the Gate 1 entrance and the Bridge paddock side to divert traffic to the appropriate route. Please make any adjustments necessary to your schedule to accommodate paddock access by larger vehicles. If adjustments need to be made and more time is needed for your racing, please let us know so we can make the necessary adjustments to our staff and schedule.
We have begun acquiring quotes for a new bridge, but as of now I have no timeline as to when to expect it to be replaced.
We apologize for this inconvenience.
America's top amateur road racers to compete in the American Motorcyclist Association Road Race Grand Championship Sept. 19-20 in Alton, Va.
PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- In hopes of securing American Motorcyclist Association national No. 1 plates, amateur road racers will compete in the 2015 AMA Road Race Grand Championship at Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Va., on Sept. 19-20.
"Virginia International Raceway is an incredible venue," said AMA Track Racing Manager Ken Saillant. "We are glad to once again be working with our event partners at the American Sportbike Racing Association and the Championship Cup Series to provide an outstanding event for amateur racers across a number of skill-, age- and displacement-based classes. The competition among these amateur racers will be something incredible to witness."
The AMA Road Race Grand Championship will run in combination with CCS sprint events and Round 7 of the ASRA Team Challenge. "As an organization, it is a great honor to host the AMA Road Race Grand Championships for the fourth year in a row," said ASRA President Kevin Elliott. "This is an outstanding opportunity for all sportsman road racers to display their talent and ability compared to all the other organizations that promote this great discipline.
"Without the AMA, road racing would not be where it is today. With amateur, expert and professional level competition, this is truly the one organization that brings all the levels together giving a clear path to the pinnacle of this sport."
The country's top amateur racers will compete not only for Road Race Grand Championship AMA No. 1 plates, but also for the AMA Road Race Horizon Award, which is awarded to the rider showing the most promise for success in the professional ranks.
